Enjoy the most beautiful landscapes at the end of the world<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is no tourist who does not come to the End of the World and fall in love with its landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with the landing in Ushuaia as the runway is located on a stretch of land over the Beagle Channel and as the plane descends the city appears over the mountain slopes. It really is the calling card of what you will experience here at the End of the World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lapataia Bay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This place is located inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park. After arriving at the end of National Route 3 and having your picture taken with the sign indicating the distance to Buenos Aires and Alaska, you can walk along a footbridge to get close to the coast of the Beagle Channel. There you will find a landscape of snow-capped mountains, forest and marine fauna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lapataia in the Yag\u00e1n language means \u201cbay of the good forest or good wood\u201d. It was a place where the native nomadic canoeists lived, as it is protected from the south-westerly winds. As evidence there are several archaeological sites marked in the place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Lake Acigami<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This site will also be visited on our excursion to the National Park. Together with Lapataia Bay it was part of an ancient fjord formed in the last Ice Age. Here we go down and walk along the shore of the lake to get the best picture in a landscape surrounded by mountains covered with lengas and \u00f1ires. The tour guide will also tell you about other evidence of the last ice age that you can find in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Ushuaia from the Martia Glacier<\/strong>l<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the closest glacier to Ushuaia and is located on one of the slopes above the city. When we talk about glaciers, many people think of glacier tongues like the Perito Moreno in El Calafate, but in this case it is a \u201cglacial cirque\u201d, a mass of ice located on the mountainside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is reached by a road that connects the town with several hotels and ends where a ski centre used to be a few years ago. There you will find a beautiful tea house and a mountain refuge. But in order to take pictures of the city it is necessary to walk up what used to be the ski slope. After a few metres you will be able to see Ushuaia, the bay and the Beagle Channel, and behind you the Martial Glacier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To take a picture with the most famous lighthouse of the End of the World you will have to take our navigation through the Beagle Channel and from the boat you will be able to enjoy the best views as it is not possible to descend to the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Emerald Lagoon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last few years this lagoon has become fashionable because of the impressive colour of the water and the environment in which it is located. The \u201cemerald\u201d colour is due to its waters that come from the melting of the Ojo del Albino Glacier. Can you imagine a photo in the lagoon surrounded by an enchanted forest?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get there you have to walk about 5km through the Patagonian forest and peat bogs. It can be visited all year round but if you come in winter you will find it frozen and the road covered with snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Tierra Mayor Valley<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is an inland valley located a few kilometres away from Ushuaia. This place also offers one of the best views of Tierra del Fuego. Besides being surrounded by mountains and forest, the base of the valley is covered with peat, a spongy mass formed by mosses and other decomposing plants that freezes and covers with snow in the winter. At this time of year, various activities such as dog sledding, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will be able to appreciate this place during one of the stops of the Lakes or Full Snow tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Garibaldi Pass<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the highest point on the RN 3 that crosses the Andes mountain range from one side to the other. There you will find the Mirador del Paso Garibaldi where you will be able to see from above Lago Escondido and the largest lake on the island, Lago Khami or Fagnano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the viewpoint you can also see the old section of the National Route, which today is only used by four-wheel drive trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing along the same route towards the north you reach the shore of Lake Khami and then the city of Tolhuin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tierra del Fuego from above<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, you can't miss a helicopter ride to appreciate this place from above. You start by leaving Ushuaia to observe the bay, the Beagle Channel, then you will approach the most emblematic mountains near the city, such as Mount Olivia and Cinco Hermanos. Then you will fly over the Tierra Mayor Valley and see the glaciers and lagoons that cannot be seen from the road. The tour ends with a toast at the top of a mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
