You can see people arriving on foot, on bicycles, motorbikes, motorhomes, antique cars or collector's cars after travelling several thousand kilometres across the American continent. This sign warns us not only about the end of the National Route n°3 but also about the end of the Pan-American route that joins Fairbanks, Alaska with the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

All visitors seek to have this photo that marks the beginning of their journey or the end of their journey through America.

On the excursion to the Tierra del Fuego National Park we visit this place. So Ushuaia is the only city behind the mountain range and when we head to the centre or north of the island we have to cross the mountains via the Garibaldi Pass. The highest point of the route is about 450 m.a.s.l., not very high as the mountains to the south are lower. It often happens that the weather is very different from one side of the mountain range to the other.

When we arrive at the Garibaldi Pass we find a two-storey lookout point where you can take photos of the lake Escondido, so called because often from the lookout point you can see the lake covered with clouds. And in the distance you can also see part of Lake Khami or Fagnano.

You will enjoy the sights on our 4×4 Lagos adventure or conventional Lagos excursion.

4.
