To explore Ushuaia is to immerse yourself in a world of breathtaking landscapes and unique experiences. What is the excursion like? The day starts early to make the most of the day, around 9:00 am, leaving from your accommodation in Ushuaia for greater comfort. We take National Route 3, a road that offers unequalled panoramic views. Along the way, we make strategic stops at points such as the Carbajal Valley Viewpoint, from where we can appreciate the immensity of the valley; the Victoria Lagoon, a mirror of water that reflects the majesty of the environment; and a beaver farm, where it is possible to observe the ingenious constructions of these animals up close. We continue our journey along Provincial Route J, a gravel road that winds along the Lasifashaj River, taking us directly to Puerto Almanza. This picturesque village of artisanal fishermen is located 75 km from Ushuaia, on the northern shore of the Beagle Channel. Surrounded by a lush forest of lengas and sour cherry trees, Puerto Almanza offers a postcard-perfect setting where the mountains meet the crystal clear, icy waters of the channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience can feel similar to visiting the beautiful Fuegian lakes, where also, the embracing water floods you with nature, returning the best images in your photos and selfies. <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to spider crab, the gastronomic offer includes shellfish, spider crab, sea urchins, sea bass, trout and salmon, all local products that delight the palate of visitors.<\/a><\/strong> Enjoying a good meal is an incredible part of the walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After delighting ourselves with the flavours of the sea, the adventure continues at Ruca Kellen, a charming farm dedicated to the cultivation of strawberries. Here, in addition to touring the crops and learning about the production process, we explore a thematic space that pays homage to the Yaganes, the first inhabitants of this region. This approach to the ancestral culture enriches our understanding of the place and its history. To end the visit, we enjoy a break in the tea house of the farm, where we enjoy a hot drink and something sweet before returning to Ushuaia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An experience that should be enjoyed in the summer until the end of March, as it is not possible to do it until the following spring, as is the case with the penguin colony.<\/a><\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going back to the recommendations, given that the weather in this region can be variable, it is advisable to dress in layers, using comfortable and warm clothes, and to carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated during the trip.
