At the beginning of the 20th century, the inmates of the Ushuaia prison used this train to travel from the prison to the slopes of Mount Susana. Their mission was to collect wood and construction materials for the growth of the incipient city. Today, you can walk along those same paths, but with the comfort of modern heated wagons and the narration of expert guides that will transport you to those times of pioneers and legends.

The tour starts at the Main Train StationIt is located only 8 km from the city of Ushuaia. From the moment you get on board, the whistle of the steam locomotive (in some departures) announces that you are about to enter a virgin and protected territory.

• The Tree Cemetery: You can see the stumps (the remains of trunks) left by the prisoners after decades of logging. These trees cut down to the ground are a silent testimony to forced labour and the passage of time.
• Peatlands and Forests: We will pass through dense forests of lengas and ñires, as well as areas of peat, a vital ecosystem only found in these extreme latitudes.
