This outing is designed for trekking and adventure lovers. It is a circuit in which we will see several lagoons, and we will reach the high part of Mount Carabajal where the 360° views are a spectacle that will give us a memorable moment. We return through the Olum Valley, allowing us to get to know another path and other views.
We start our hike in the Tierra Mayor Valley where the Turquoise Lagoon is our first stop. We continue the ascent up to a rocky ridge, where we will skirt the lagoon along the upper part of the mountain until we reach the summit of Mount Carabajal. This part of the route has impressive views: in the distance over the mountain range in front of us we will see the Esmeralda Lagoon and the Ojo del Albino Glacier, and over the lower part the Tierra Mayor and Carabajal Valley, which has one of the most extensive and unaltered peat bogs in the area. Reaching the top of the mountain will take us three hours of walking at a steady pace.
We return by another road, crossing different mountain lakes that have been formed by the snow that melts in the summer. The Olum valley is our way back, native forests and beaver dams await us in the lower part.
