1. FEWER PEOPLE AT THE MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS. The high season has just ended and the cruise ships no longer call at the port. Therefore, you can have a better experience in the most chosen places by tourists in Tierra del Fuego. You won't have to queue for tickets or wait for your photo at the most emblematic places in Ushuaia.

2. MARINE WILDLIFE IS ARRIVING IN THE BEAGLE CHANNEL TO SPEND THE WINTER. In addition to the colonies of imperial cormorants and fur seals that can be visited all year round during the navigation to Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Also, at this time of year we can see the two-hair fur seals that stay until approximately October. The tour guide will tell you about the differences between the two species and you will see that their behaviour is totally different. You will also find among the animal colonies the Antarctic pigeons and, gliding over the water, the silver petrels. Both species come from the white continent to spend the winter in the Beagle Channel. Be careful, it is not a sure thing to see but you might be lucky to encounter humpback whales.
 

3. AUTUMN IS THE TIME WHEN THE FUEGIAN FOREST SHINES ITS RANGE OF COLOURS. The lengas and ñires begin to change the colour of their leaves: from yellow, mustard, through different ranges of oranges and reds to almost fuchsia. Everything happens until they fall off completely before the onset of winter. You can enjoy this phenomenon during the excursion of the National Park and combine it with the End of the World Train. 
 

 4. IF YOU ENJOY HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS I RECOMMEND YOU TO CHOOSE THE TREKKING TO LAGUNA ESMERALDA. As you climb up the hillside you can see the transition in the colours of the forest. The tops of the trees at the beginning of the trail will be greener and will become redder as you go up towards the lagoon. Autumn is also the best time to see different fungi on the forest floor and tree trunks. The peat is also a great protagonist in this excursion and at this time of the year the reddish, orange and yellowish green colours stand out. You won't be able to stop taking pictures! The Esmeranda Lagoon is a unique place and well worth a visit.
 

5. YOU MIGHT GET A CHANCE TO SEE SNOW ON THE MOUNTAIN. Ushuaia has a very changeable climate. Although we can enjoy the snow in the city since June, this place never ceases to surprise you. You never know, who's to say that if you come in autumn you'll have the chance to see the snow by going to the old ski centre of the Martial Glacier. It is located in one of the mountains surrounding the city and you can get there by car. After walking along the old ski slope you can go back to the base and have a hot chocolate at the Mountain Refuge or the Tea House on site.
