Ojo del Albino Trekking

Leaving from your accommodation in the morning, we start our journey along Route N°3. At km. 20 we will start the 5 km. hike to the Esmeralda Lagoon, crossing the Tierra Mayor Valley and the Esmeralda River Valley. We will arrive at the Lagoon and after appreciating the landscape we will hike for about two hours. We continue our journey along the right bank to start ascending towards the Ojo del Albino, after an hour we will be walking through high mountain terrain which requires a lot of concentration.

After a stop for lunch and to recover energy, we will continue ascending towards the Balcones del Ojo del Albino, where we will have an incredible view of the Laguna Esmeralda and its high valley.

Departure times: 8:00 am. Approx. duration: 12 hours (depending on weather conditions).
Distance covered: approx. 20 km.
Difference in altitude: 800 m approx.
Included: Transfers, guide, box lunch, poles and crampons.

Requirements

Have experience in trekking and be in good physical condition. No physical ailments.

Clothing: Waterproof trekking shoes, waterproof jacket and trousers, hat, gloves, sunscreen, buff or neckerchief, backpack with a bottle of water.
