Embark on an unforgettable voyage on the waters of the legendary Beagle Channelthe inter-oceanic passage that links the Atlantic with the Pacific. This navigation is the perfect opportunity to discover the biodiversity of the extreme south and to contemplate the city of Ushuaia from a unique perspective: the sea. On board our boat, we will visit the most emblematic points of the Fuegian coast, combining history, wildlife and landscapes that seem to have stopped in time.
Towards the Symbol of the End of the World: Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse
Starting from the Local Tourist PortWe will start our navigation crossing the picturesque Ushuaia Bay. As we sail away from the dock, the silhouette of the city and the imposing peaks of the Andes, such as Mount Olivia and Cinco Hermanos, give us a welcoming postcard that will be hard to forget.
Our first big target is the famous Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Although it is popularly known as the "Lighthouse at the End of the World", its real name comes from French and means "The Illuminators". This authentic symbol of Tierra del Fuego, with its red and white stripes, stands on a small group of rocky islets. It is a favourite spot for photographers, as it represents the most iconic point of southern navigation.
Encounter with the Southern Fauna: Isla de los Lobos and Isla de los Pajaros
The adventure continues as we head towards the Bridges Archipelago. As we approach the Isla de los LobosWe will slow down to get a closer look at the imposing one- and two-hair fur seals. You will see them resting on the rocks or swimming curiously around the hull, giving you an insight into the richness of the local marine ecosystem.
Following our route, we will navigate around the Bird Island. This natural sanctuary is home to an amazing bird life. With the help of our specialised guide, you will be able to identify species such as:
- Imperial and Royal Cormorants (easily confused with penguins because of their black and white plumage).
- Black-browed Albatrossteachers of the planned flight.
- Skúasbold seabirds of prey.
- Steamer Ducks, Geese and Cooking Gulls.
Karelo Island Historical Hike
One of the highlights of our excursion is the stop at the Karelo Island. Weather permitting, passengers will be able to descend for a short guided trek. During this low-difficulty hike, we will explore the "concheros" or archaeological sites that tell the story of the ancient natives. YámanasWe will reach a privileged panoramic point from where we will enjoy a 360 degree view of the mountain range and the channel. The Return: An Unsurpassed Panoramic View
At the end of the trip, we return to the bay. This is the ideal moment to relax at the snack bar and enjoy the panoramic view of the city of Ushuaia, protected by the Martial Glacier.
