Everything you need to know about Pre-Trip 3

This programme was created with the objective of strengthening national tourism demand post-quarantine. It consists of a credit from the Argentine State equivalent to 50% of the amount of each tourist services purchase transaction made in advance. For PAMI affiliates, the reimbursement is 70%.

What remains to be defined for Pre-Trip 3?

At the time of this publication the National Government did not announce the period in which the benefit can be applied but it is known that it is to encourage the mid and low season approximately between September and November of this year.

Secondly, it is not yet clear when it will be possible to start purchasing tourist services to apply this benefit. At the moment, operators are registering to be able to enter Previaje 3.

How to apply for the benefit?

-To register you must be over 18 years of age and residents of Argentina.

-Purchases must be made on or after the date announced by the National Government but before the trip. An important thing to bear in mind is that advance purchases will have to be made with an invoice and/or receipts type “B” or “C” issued electronically.

Each voucher shall contain:

-Full name of applicant

-DNI and/or CUIT or CUIL.

-Description of the service provided, dates and locations.

Advance purchases must be paid by bank transfer, debit or credit card and/or virtual wallet enabled in the national market.

I am travelling with minors, are they excluded from Pre-Trip 3?

No, your expenses must be registered together with those of an adult and, for example, airline expenses must have the same booking code. One thing to note is that the amount remains up to $100,000 no matter how many expenses a registrant records for other people.

Example: If one adult and two children are travelling to Ushuaia and with Pre-Trip 3 they pre-purchased airfare, accommodation and an excursion for each and spent $250,000 in total. The money credited to you will be $100,000.

How do I register?

First, you must go to the website www.previaje.gob.ar. To register your ID you will need to do so through the My Argentina application.

You will then have to credit all advance purchases made in the period to be announced by the government.

If you were already a beneficiary of Previaje 1 or Previaje 2, you must still register for this programme.

NOT INCLUDED:

-Purchases of services to be carried out outside the country

-Accommodation in the same place of residence

-Wholesale services

Pay-at-Destination“ method”

-Providers not enrolled in the programme

What are the products and services that apply in Pre-Trip 3?

They will be reimbursed a total amount of up to $100,000 on advance purchases of:

-Accommodation

-Travel agencies

-Transport e.g. long distance air and land transport purchased directly from the operator without intermediary tour operators.

Important! The next point is different from the previous Pre-Trip.

They will be reimbursed a total amount of up to $5,000 on advance purchases of:

-Lake/river/sea excursions

-Ski resorts / ecotourism / adventure tourism services

-Admission to theme parks, museums, wineries.

That is to say, the refund of up to $5.000 is if they contract the above mentioned services directly. But if you contract these services through a Tourist Agency, the first item of $100.000 applies.

Example: Lucia pre-purchased airfare (direct with the operator), accommodation and excursions (contracted through a tourist agency) to Ushuaia. She spent $180,000 for a 7-day trip for herself. Once she uploads the invoices to the Programme she will get a credit of $90,000. But if she also paid for the ski passes and ski equipment directly to the Winter Centre, she will only be credited with $5,000. But if you hire it through the Tourist Agency, it is considered as an expense of the first item.

The enrollee may use it for one or more trips as long as it is within the advertised period and a total amount of $100,000.

How do I receive credit?

A few days before the trip, you will receive a pre-loaded payment card from Banco Nación at your home or by means of an electronic wallet. This card is in the name of the beneficiary and is for personal and non-transferable use.

If you still have the Previaje 2 card, you will have to register again and confirm and verify the data of the previous card. If you were a beneficiary of the previous programme but do not have the card, you will have to open a new account.

What can I use the credit for when I arrive at my destination?

In all shops and operators that have signed up for the Programme. Before making a purchase, check with the shop to see if it accepts Previaje 3.

These are some of the places: accommodation, travel agencies, transport, tourist guides, ski centres, ski equipment, car or bicycle rental, entrance to wineries, theme parks, museums, gastronomy, shops, regional products, among others.

Example: A couple book airfare, accommodation and car rental and receive $75,000 credit each. At the destination, they can spend it on restaurants, ski equipment rental, excursions, souvenir shops, and more.

Balance enquiries can be made from the MasterConsultas website, the Banco Nacional “BNA+” application or by calling Mastercard customer service or Banco Nación.

What happens if I have credit left over?

You can use it until 31 December 2022 at another duty station or at your place of residence as long as there are places that apply for Previaje 3.

For the time being, we will have to wait for the Minister of Tourism and Sport to announce in which period the Programme is available for travel and from which date it can be purchased in advance to be applied in the Pre-Trip 3.
