Little by little and towards the end of March you will begin to observe the natural change in the climate. During the summer that Ushuaia leaves behind, the temperatures reached 15°, the days were eternal with up to 17 hours of sunlight and nature was in bloom, full of bright colours. As autumn approaches, the pictures change, darker colours come into play and the forests are tinged with red, brown and golden tones.

End of the World Train

Just imagining a walk through a yellow forest that can later become reddish or ochre, the image takes your breath away. The journey on the End of the World Train is fantastic as it crosses the Tierra del Fuego National Park, replicating the route taken by the prisoners in the Ushuaia prison. arriving at Monte Susana, where they took materials for works in the prison. The trip starts at the Estación del Fin del Mundo (End of the World Station) where you will see souvenir shops and places to recharge your batteries with a snack. The Mirador del Paso Garibaldi is the place where Route 3 reaches its highest altitude after crossing the Fuegian Patagonian Andes. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Lago Escondido and behind it, Lago Fagnano.. True protagonists in autumn, they receive tourists from all over the year to see this spectacle that nature gives us. Tierra del Fuego National Park

In autumn, the range of colours in the national park is simply beautiful.. The forests show that autumnal spirit with more opaque colours waiting for their leaves to fall as the season progresses. This is the ideal season for hiking trails, walking through places full of vegetation between coasts, forests and lakes. 

With the right clothing there is no activity that cannot be done, it is important to wear waterproof clothing and gloves to protect you from the cold and wind. 

A walk around Lake Acigami, gazing at the surrounding mountains or just relaxing on the beach is a nice autumn walk.

Helicopter overflight

A fantastic experience aboard a helicopter that will take you to fly over Mount Olivia and Mount Cinco Hermanos, then over the Carbajal Valley. until we reach the Emerald Lagoon with its particular green colour. Laguna Esmeralda is an impressive trek in any season.. In winter it is completely frozen and in summer it is a serene landscape with green trees all around and of course nestled between beautiful mountains. In autumn it starts to freeze and is surrounded by reddish and yellow colours that show a completely different postcard from the other seasons. To make the hike you have to take into account that it can take about 4 hours and that the sunlight gets lower earlier in this season. The path is very well signposted but there may be snow on the way, so being prepared is essential to enjoy the walk.

Beagle Channel Navigation

It is one of the traditional excursions at the end of the world and one of the most requested. It is rare for a tourist to leave Ushuaia without having sailed the Beagle Channel..

If you still don't have your selfie with the Les Eclaireurs lighthouse, this is a trip we highly recommend. The navigation will take you into the icy waters where you will be able to see sea lions, native birds and a great biodiversity.
